Ghana international Francis Abu delivered an impressive performance to help Cercle Brugge secure a 2-0 victory over Scottish side Heart of Midlothian in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday night.

Abu played the full 90 minutes, contributing significantly to his team’s dominant display at home. France international Malamine Efekele opened the scoring in the 40th minute, finishing off a well-timed assist from Nils De Wilde to give the hosts a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

Cercle Brugge sealed the win in stoppage time when Abu set up Gary Magnee for the second goal, capping off a strong team performance.

The Belgian side has been in fine form in the competition, amassing seven points from their first four group games and strengthening their position for qualification to the knockout stages.

Abu’s compatriot, Lawrence Agyekum, also featured in the match, coming on as a substitute in the 72nd minute to replace Felipe Augusto.

Francis Abu has been a key figure for Cercle Brugge this season, making 25 appearances across all competitions, with one goal and two assists to his name. His consistent form continues to bolster his reputation as a rising talent in Ghanaian football.
