Botev Plovdiv have bolstered their defensive lineup with the signing of 26-year-old Dutch-born Ghanaian central defender Jamal Amofa on transfer deadline day.

Amofa joins from Go Ahead Eagles, bringing valuable experience, versatility, and a solid defensive presence to the “yellow and black” squad.

Born in Amsterdam on November 25, 1998, Amofa honed his skills at SC Heerenveen’s youth academy before signing his first professional contract with ADO Den Haag in 2020. His impressive performances led to a move to Go Ahead Eagles in 2022, where he spent three successful seasons in the Eredivisie.

Now, Amofa is eager to take on a new challenge with Botev Plovdiv in Bulgaria, joining at a key moment as the club looks to strengthen its squad for both domestic and European competitions.

Known for his defensive capabilities, composure on the ball, and leadership qualities, Amofa is poised to make a significant impact in fortifying Botev’s backline.
