Former Ghana U17 captain Benjamin Tsivanyo has expressed his desire to leave the country and continue his football career abroad following Nsoatreman FC’s decision to withdraw from the Ghana Premier League.
Tsivanyo had been enjoying a solid season in the top-flight before his club, Nsoatreman FC, opted to abandon the league for the “safety and security” of the players. This decision came after an unfortunate incident during a match against Asante Kotoko on February 2, 2025, in which a tragic clash led to the death of a dedicated supporter, Francis Frimpong.
The 19-year-old, who had been a standout performer for Nsoatreman FC, has been left frustrated by the turn of events and is now keen to explore opportunities abroad.
“Some of us are worried, we have been talking a lot. I am in the house now and no one is going to tell you how they really feel,” Tsivanyo shared with Joy Sports, revealing the emotional toll the situation has taken on him and his teammates.
Reflecting on his career and future, Tsivanyo acknowledged that as a young footballer, sometimes it is necessary to move on from past challenges. “As a young footballer, sometimes you have to let go of the past,” he said.
Tsivanyo has kept up his training during this period, practicing at the beach with fellow young footballers and also training with a second-division club.
“For me, I don’t want to stay in Ghana again. I have already made a name for myself in this country, so the next thing is to move somewhere and prove myself,” he added, indicating his readiness to take the next step in his football journey abroad.
