Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has finalized a 23-man squad for the upcoming Unity Cup 2025, set to take place in London this week. The list features a blend of local and international talents, including four players from the Ghana Premier League.

Among the home-based selections are Benjamin Asare of Hearts of Oak, Razak Simpson from Nations FC, Kamaradini Mamudu of Medeama SC, and Kwame Opoku representing Asante Kotoko.

Joseph Tetteh Anang, a former West Ham United goalkeeper now playing for St. Patrick’s Athletic in Ireland, earns his first senior call-up to the national team.

Promising youngsters Abdul Aziz Issah and Aaron Essel, who impressed during Ghana’s campaign at the recent U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, have also been included.

The squad also welcomes in-form Caleb Yirenkyi of Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini, who plies his trade with Union Saint-Gilloise in Belgium.

Returning to the national setup are Abdul Samed Salis of Sunderland, Majeed Ashimeru from Anderlecht, and forward Felix Afena Gyan, who is back after nearly two years away from the team. Salis, in particular, returns after a long injury spell that sidelined him for much of the season.

All players are scheduled to assemble in London to begin preparations for the Unity Cup, which will see Ghana compete alongside Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica.

Ghana’s first fixture will be against Nigeria at the GTech Community Stadium in West London on Wednesday, May 28. The winner of this match will advance to the final on Saturday, May 31, 2025.
