Ghanaian international and Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has been formally charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in the United Kingdom.
The charges follow an investigation by UK authorities into alleged incidents involving the 31-year-old footballer. The CPS confirmed on Thursday that there is sufficient evidence to proceed with prosecution.
As of now, no official comment has been released by Partey, his legal representatives, or his club Arsenal FC.
The developments come at a time when the midfielder was expected to decide on his next move after his contract with Arsenal expired at the end of June 2025.
Further updates are expected as the case proceeds through the legal system.
