Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has unveiled a 24-man squad for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad and Mali next month.
The squad features key players such as Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Gideon Mensah, Antoine Semenyo, and Inaki Williams, who all maintain their places in the team.
One of the major highlights is the maiden call-up of Derrick Arthur Köhn, a left-back with Union Berlin. The 26-year-old, who enjoyed a successful loan spell at Werder Bremen last season before joining Union Berlin from Galatasaray, is rewarded for his strong performances in the German Bundesliga.
Another notable inclusion is Kamal Deen Sulemana, who recently completed a move from Southampton to Italian Serie A side Atalanta. He has impressed early in his new chapter and earns a place in the squad. Midfielder Elisha Owusu also makes a comeback after recovering from a long-term injury, while Caleb Yirenkyi of FC Nordsjaelland—who caught the eye during the Unity Cup in London—has been handed an opportunity to shine with the senior team.
In defense, Tariq Lamptey returns, with Christopher Bonsu Baah also named in the squad. Meanwhile, Ireland-based goalkeeper Joseph Anang is included to bolster the goalkeeping department.
Ghana currently leads Group I of the African qualifiers with 15 points, having recorded five wins and a single defeat in six matches.
The Black Stars will play Chad on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8, 2025.
