Burton Albion have signed English-born Ghanaian forward Kain Adom from National League side Gateshead for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old joins the Brewers on an 18-month contract, with an optional year extension.
He will take the number 29 shirt and is eligible for the Emirates FA Cup fixture on Saturday, due to a Football Association rule change allowing players to represent two teams in one season.
Albion Head Coach Gary Bowyer said: “We are delighted to welcome Kain to the club, and we thank our owners for their continued support and trust.
“Kain has already scored 10 goals this season and I love his direct play. He is a strong runner with great pace. We look forward to working with him as he continues his journey.”
The forward, who can play anywhere in the front line, rose quickly through the ranks of non-league football with Staines Town and Ashford Town.
He scored 15 goals for Hanwell Town during the 2022/23 season, joining Welling United on non-contract terms at the start of the following campaign.
Just six months later, after scoring seven goals in 23 appearances, the Londoner was signed by Gateshead – netting his first National League goal in his second game for the Tynesiders.
On joining Burton Albion, Kain said: “I’m buzzing, it’s a big jump up from where I have been playing but I’m ready to get started as soon as possible.
“The gaffer has emphasized hard work and that’s a big part of my game already, so it’s what I have come here to do.
“I can’t wait to show myself on this stage for the first time, I can’t wait to show the fans my work rate and perform in front of them.”
