John Annan has taken a major step in his young football career after being named in the provisional squad of Ghana’s Under-17 national team ahead of preparations for this year’s U17 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 15-year-old goalkeeper, who is a student of Adiembra Senior High School, earned the call-up following his impressive performances at club level.
Annan currently plies his trade with Division One League side Soccer Intellectuals Sporting Club, where he has shown maturity and confidence beyond his age.
His inclusion in the provisional squad places him among the country’s most promising young talents being considered for the continental tournament. The technical team of the national U17 side is expected to assess players during the preparatory phase before naming the final squad for the championship.
