19-year-old RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has been tipped to be a superstar in the next few seasons. The Leipzig forward is tearing defences apart in the German Bundesliga, having been a constant figure in the club’s line-up.

Diomande’s wonderful rise

Born in Abidjan, the winger moved to the USA at a very young age. He joined the Yulee Hornets in Florida before making a switch to DME Academy from 2022 to 2024.

Diomande moved to Europe, where he joined Leganes B in Spain in 2025. He was promoted to the senior side the same year before RB Leipzig paid his 20 million euros release clause in June 2015.

The Ivorian winger has been attracting interest from almost all the big clubs in Europe, with English rivals Manchester United and Liverpool set to fight for his signature.

The teenager’s quick progress has been phenomenal, as he is being monitored closely by the humongous clubs, with Leipzig open for a deal for their youngster.

Reports from the German side indicate that the clubs have registered their interest in Diomande officially.

How much will Yan Diomande cost?

Leipzig is known to be among the tough negotiators in world football, having sold so many talented players in recent seasons for huge fees.

When Manchester United initially inquired about the Ivorian in the 2026 January transfer window, Leipzig immediately told the Red Devils that the teenager is worth £100 million.

Sources in Germany indicate that a fee of around £80 million can convince RB Leipzig to sell the talented Ivorian.

Who are the top players Leipzig have sold in recent transfer windows

1. Josko Gvardiol to Manchester City in 2023 (90 million euros)

2. Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United in 2015 (76.50 million euros)

3. Dominik Szoboszlai to Liverpool in 2013 (70 million euros)

4. Xavi Simons to Tottenham Hotspur in 2025 (65 million euros)

5. Christopher Nkunku to Chelsea in 2023 (60 million euros)

6. Naby Keita to Liverpool in 2018 (60 million euros)

7. Dani Olmo to Barcelona in 2024 (55 million euros)

8. Timo Werner to Chelsea in 2020 (53 million euros)

9. Dayot Upamecano to Bayern Munich in 2021 (42. 50 million euros)

10. Ibrahim Konate to Liverpool in 2021 (40 million euros)

Which club will Diomande prefer?

“My father is a big Liverpool fan”, Yan Diomande said. “I am also a big Liverpool fan, so I will be glad to play for them,” he added.

Diomande will prefer a move to the Reds, but nobody knows what will happen in the future, so either one can win his signature depending on the financial terms.

Diomande’s specialities

He is a right-footed player who predominantly plays on the right-hand side at Leipzig. In the 2025 AFCON, Ivory Coast’s head coach Emerse Fae used him on the left-hand side with Amad Diallo operating from the right.

Blessed with pace, Diomade has an incredible balance that helps him to trick defenders. He is a great dribbler and has a higher ceiling. The highly rated attacker has been tipped to reach a higher level, so it is not surprising to hear the two biggest clubs in England chasing him.
