Former Black Stars goalkeeper Danlad Ibrahim has expressed admiration and support for his senior teammate Benjamin Asare, highlighting respect and encouragement as key values for Ghana’s squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking on Akoma FM, Ibrahim said, “Benjamin Asare is my senior, so it wouldn’t be right for me to advise him. I can only seek God’s luck, favor, and strength for him, to protect him from any disgrace or injuries. I really admire his conduct both on and off the pitch, and I pray that he performs exceptionally well for Ghana in the tournament.”
Ibrahim’s remarks reflect a philosophy of teamwork and mutual respect, emphasizing that supporting teammates is just as important as individual preparation. With the tournament approaching, the message is clear: unity and encouragement will be crucial for Ghana’s success.
The four-time African champions have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia. Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17, face England on June 23, and close group play against Croatia on June 27.
The Black Stars will base themselves at Bryant University in the United States as they prepare to break the cycle of early exits and aim for a deeper run in the tournament.
