Ghanaian teenager Kelvin Ansah Frimpong has completed a move to Norwegian top-flight club Viking FK from African Vikins Academy, signing a long-term contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.
The 18-year-old winger earned the deal after impressing during a trial with the Eliteserien side in Stavanger, where his pace, attacking flair and technical ability stood out to the club’s technical staff.
Viking sporting director Erik Nevland praised the youngster’s potential following the transfer.
“Kelvin has shown great energy and qualities we really like. He is quick, aggressive going forward and has exciting development potential,” Nevland said.
Frimpong also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to begin his professional career in Norway.
“This is a great opportunity for me. I’m grateful to Viking for the chance and I will work hard for the club and the supporters,” he said.
The move marks an important step in the young winger’s career as he transitions from academy football in Ghana to the competitive environment of Norwegian top-flight football with Viking FK.
