Head coach of the Ghana U-17 women’s national team, Joe Nana Adarkwa, has expressed strong confidence ahead of his side’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Togo U-17 women’s national team.
The first leg of the tie is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, at the Stade de Kégué, with kickoff set for 4:00 PM.
Adarkwa revealed that his team has undergone extensive preparations, spending several weeks in camp to fine-tune tactics and build cohesion for the crucial encounter.
“Concerning our preparation, everything is going on well. We’ve been in camp for almost a month, and things are progressing very well. So we are okay with everything,” he said.
Despite admitting limited knowledge about their opponents, the coach emphasized the team’s determination to maintain Ghana’s strong legacy at the youth level.
“We are coming into the game like wounded lions. The Maidens’ tradition is always to qualify for the World Cup, and we want to continue that. We are going to win the match and move to the next stage,” he added.
Adarkwa also highlighted the positive atmosphere within the squad, noting that both players and technical staff are motivated and ready to deliver.
“We are happy with everything here, and the technical staff are also confident. We can’t wait to compete, and we will take every game seriously to achieve our goal.”
The return leg of the qualifier will be played on April 18 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
