Ghana international Prince Osei-Owusu delivered a sensational all-round performance to inspire CF Montreal to a commanding 4-1 victory over New York Red Bulls in Major League Soccer on Saturday.
The 29-year-old forward was directly involved in every goal, scoring once and providing three assists in a dominant display that left the Red Bulls—who featured Ghanaian duo Sofo Mohammed and Ronald Donkor—completely overwhelmed.
His outstanding performance not only secured Montreal’s first win under interim head coach Philippe Eullaffroy but also marked a historic achievement for the club, as they recorded their 100th all-time victory at Stade Saputo.
Osei-Owusu set the tone early in the match, pouncing on a defensive error to assist the opening goal before confidently converting a penalty in the 39th minute with a composed stutter-step finish.
After the break, his creativity continued to shine. He delivered a perfectly weighted pass to set up another goal before producing a delicate chipped assist to complete his trio of assists on the night, rounding off a flawless attacking display.
The Ghanaian forward has now registered five goals and four assists in just eight MLS appearances during the 2026 season, underlining his growing influence as one of the league’s most productive attackers.
Beyond his numbers, Osei-Owusu’s leadership as captain and his ability to control proceedings in the final third have become central to Montreal’s resurgence, with the forward now operating at the peak of his form and confidence.
