Ghanaian attacker Prince Kwabena Adu scored the only goal of the match as Viktoria Plzeň secured a narrow 1-0 victory over Baník Ostrava in 1. Liga Round 27 at Městský stadion.
The 22-year-old proved decisive in the 35th minute, finishing clinically after being set up by Amar Memić to hand the visitors a valuable first-half lead.
Plzeň managed the game efficiently after taking control, with Adu playing a key role in their attacking efforts before being substituted in the 72nd minute. Mohamed Toure came on to help preserve the slender advantage as the visitors saw out the result. Adu impressed throughout the contest, earning a solid match rating of 7.6 for his performance.
The goal takes his tally to seven goals and one assist in 25 appearances during the 2025/26 1. Liga season, further underlining his growing importance in Plzeň’s push for European qualification.
The victory lifts Viktoria Plzeň to third place on the table with 53 points from 30 matches, keeping them firmly in contention for a top-three finish.
The result also ended a brief scoring drought for the club, who had drawn 0-0 with Slavia Prague and lost 1-0 to Pardubice in their previous two league outings.
