Kwame Bonsu has completed a move to Omani Premier League club Al Shabab SC, signing for the team ahead of the 2026/27 football season.
The 31-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, who previously played for Asante Kotoko and Heart of Lions, will continue his career in Oman after agreeing to join the Gulf-based club. His new club officially confirmed the transfer by unveiling him with a video highlighting some of the best moments from his football journey.
Bonsu is well acquainted with football in the Gulf region, having previously featured for clubs including Al Bataeh in the United Arab Emirates, Naft Al Basra in Iraq, and Saudi Arabian sides Al-Ain and Al-Jendal.
The experienced midfielder is expected to link up with his new teammates in Oman for pre-season training as Al Shabab SC prepares for the upcoming campaign.
Before his time in the Middle East, Bonsu built a successful career in Europe, where he played in Sweden for FC Rosengård, Mjällby, and Gefle. He also enjoyed success in North Africa, helping Tunisian giants Espérance win the Tunisian top-flight league title during the 2019/20 season before later moving to Egyptian side Ceramica Cleopatra.
Bonsu, who has made one appearance for the Ghana national team, will be hoping to use his vast experience across Europe, North Africa and the Gulf to make a strong impact at his new club.
