Ghana youth international Foster Apetorgbor produced a dream impact off the bench, scoring a spectacular winning goal as Sandefjord defeated Sarpsborg 08 2-1 away from home in the Norwegian Eliteserien.
The 18-year-old forward was introduced in the 53rd minute and wasted no time making his presence felt, firing home a stunning strike just four minutes later to restore Sandefjord’s lead.
Sandefjord had opened the scoring through Oscar Kapskarmo in the 28th minute before Daniel Karlsbakk levelled the contest for Sarpsborg 08 nine minutes later.
Apetorgbor’s 57th-minute finish proved to be the difference as Sandefjord held on for a crucial victory, ending an eight-game winless run in the Norwegian top flight.
The Ghana U20 attacker joined Sandefjord on a permanent transfer after leaving former Ghana Premier League club Nsoatreman FC, where he developed into one of the country’s promising young talents.
The youngster has now made six appearances in the Norwegian Eliteserien this season, recording one goal and one assist as he continues his adaptation to European football.
His latest match-winning display will strengthen his credentials ahead of Ghana’s preparations for the 2027 Africa U20 Cup of Nations, with Apetorgbor emerging as one of the country’s exciting prospects.
