Ghanaian forward Derrick Fordjour has completed a move to Iraqi First Division side Peshmerga Sulaymaniya SC after ending his spell with Ghana Premier League champions Medeama SC.
The winger has embarked on a new chapter in his career after departing the Tarkwa-based club during the 2026 transfer window to pursue an opportunity abroad.
Fordjour was part of Medeama’s squad in recent seasons and contributed to the club’s offensive setup during their domestic campaigns, including their push for success in Ghanaian football. However, his time with the Yellow and Mauves came to an end this season as both parties moved in different directions.
The 26-year-old left after playing a role in one of the most successful periods in Medeama’s history, winning two Ghana Premier League titles during his time with the Mauve and Yellow.
The forward now heads to Iraq, where he will bring his physical strength, aerial ability and experience from Ghana’s top flight to Peshmerga Sulaymaniya as they strengthen their squad for the upcoming campaign.
The move represents Fordjour’s first major overseas adventure and provides him with an opportunity to test himself in a new football environment while continuing his professional development.
Peshmerga Sulaymaniya will hope the Ghanaian defender can add stability and leadership to their backline as they target success in Iraqi football.
