Hearts of Oak will be looking to extend their impressive winning streak when they travel to the Debibi Presby Park to take on newly promoted Debibi United in a Ghana Premier League Matchday Nine fixture on Sunday.
The Phobians head into the contest in excellent form after edging Basake Holy Stars 1-0 at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium last weekend, a result that secured their third successive league victory and reinforced their credentials as genuine title contenders.
Under head coach Didi Dramani, Hearts have enjoyed a solid start to the 2026/27 campaign and currently sit second on the league table with 17 points, level with leaders Medeama SC but behind on goal difference.
Their success has been built on a rock-solid defence. The Rainbow Club have conceded just two goals in eight league matches, the best defensive record in the division, while their disciplined and organised displays have made them one of the toughest sides to break down.
Hearts have also impressed away from home this season. They boast the league’s best away record, having registered two wins, one draw and one defeat from four matches on the road, scoring three goals and conceding only twice.
Despite their excellent form, Sunday’s trip presents a different kind of challenge as they visit Debibi United for the first time in a top-flight fixture.
The Premier League newcomers have shown signs of promise despite their difficult start to life in the top flight. However, they head into the encounter on the back of a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Bechem United, a result that halted the momentum gained from their impressive 1-0 victory over Bibiani Gold Stars the previous weekend.
Debibi United have won just one of their last five league matches, losing the other four, and currently occupy 16th place with seven points after eight games. They have scored seven goals and conceded 12 in their debut Premier League campaign.
While their overall form has been inconsistent, the newcomers have been much stronger on home soil. At the Debibi Presby Park, they have recorded two wins, one draw and one defeat in four league matches, scoring six goals while conceding only three.
The home side will be hoping to use the support of their fans to frustrate one of the league’s most in-form teams and secure another valuable result in their battle to avoid relegation.
For Hearts of Oak, victory would not only extend their winning run to four matches but could also see them climb to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings, depending on the outcome of Medeama SC’s clash with Asante Kotoko.
With Hearts chasing the title and Debibi United eager to continue proving themselves at home, Sunday’s encounter promises to be a fiercely contested battle between two sides with contrasting ambitions.
