English-born Ghanaian descent, Tariq Lamptey made his return from injury on Wednesday during Brighton & Hove Albion’s win over Swansea City in the Carabao Cup.
Lamptey was named on the bench from the start by head coach Graham Potter for the cup game, and looked ready to be thrown on at any point in time after finishing his recovery.
The 20-year-old was introduced into the game after the half-time break, replacing Pascal Gross for the second 45 minutes of the encounter, with his side already scoring two goals.
The Ghanaian youngster looked lively and adapted well to the game despite last playing quite a long time ago. Lamptey last played a game for Brighton during the 2020/21 season, a fixture against Fulham in December before suffering a long-term injury.
His return should be a massive boost for Potter, whose side has had a brilliant start to the 2021/22 campaign so far.
