Aduana Stars attacking midfielder Sam Adams remains optimistic that his team will recover from their recent loss to Nations FC when they face Young Apostles this weekend.
The two-time league champions have had a difficult start to the 2024/25 season, failing to secure a win in their first three matches. With one loss and two draws, the “Fire Boys” are still searching for their first victory of the campaign.
Last weekend, Yaw Acheampong’s side suffered a 2-1 defeat at home against Nations FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in a matchday 3 fixture. Nations FC took the lead in the 29th minute through Nafiu Sulemana, giving Aduana an early scare.
Aduana Stars managed to fight back, leveling the score in the 76th minute with a goal from Kelvin Obeng. However, a stoppage-time strike by Faisal Charwetey secured the win for the visitors, leaving Aduana Stars without a victory.
This weekend, Aduana Stars will travel to Wenchi to take on league newcomers Young Apostles in matchday 4 of the Premier League. Adams, reflecting on their performance, acknowledged the need for improvement and emphasized that the upcoming match is crucial.
“Our game against Young Apostles is a must-win. We can’t afford to drop points again. We will definitely secure our first win of the season for the fans and the club owner at large,” Adams stated confidently.
Currently sitting 12th on the Ghana Premier League table with just two points, Aduana Stars are determined to climb the standings and reignite their season.
