The Black Stars are set to travel to Kumasi on Tuesday to continue their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. This follows their initial training session at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Ten players were involved in the first session, which was overseen by the technical team, who had recently survived a road accident on Sunday. The players who took part in the training included goalkeepers Frederick Asare and Joseph Wollacott, alongside Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Thomas Partey, Antoine Semenyo, Brandon Thomas-Asante, Ebenezer Annan, Jonas Adjetey, Tariq Lamptey, and Ibrahim Osman.
By Monday night, the squad had nearly reached full strength, with the arrival of Mohammed Kudus, Majeed Ashimeru, and Inaki Williams at the camp. Norwich City midfielder Forson Amankwah was also called up to replace the injured Elisha Owusu.
“The technical team is expecting a full house ahead of their trip to Kumasi, where they’ll train at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday,” the Ghana Football Association confirmed.
Ghana’s first qualifier will be against Angola on Thursday, September 5, before they travel to Berkane, Morocco, to face Niger in their second Group F match on Monday, September 9, 2024. The Black Stars are aiming for back-to-back victories to kickstart their qualification campaign on a strong note.
