Ivory Coast Football Federation Presidential hopeful Sory Diabate has made a pledge to local footballers to put them on a monthly salary of at least 500 000 CFA (830 USD).
According to Diabate, the money will come from government and that will cost around 6 billion CFA per year for a ten-year proposed period of the intervention.
However should Sory becomes the Federation boss, this will only materialize if the Ivorian government accept to pay footballers of private football clubs in the country.

When Samuel Eto’o became President of Cameroon Football Federation he installed a similar salary cap for footballers in the country in a bid to improve their welfare.
