The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) have revealed that national team striker Seifeddine Jaziri has contracted Covid-19 right before the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Tunisia will have a relatively easy start to their AFCON journey as they were placed in Group F alongside Gambia, Mali, and Mauritania.
However, the Carthage Eagles will have to cope without their main striker Seifeddine Jaziri after he tested positive for Covid-19.
They are also unable to replace the Arab Cup top scorer, after he was included in the submitted squad, which can’t be modified after the deadline imposed by the Confederation of African Football, which was on 30 December.
The 2021 AFCON is set to take place between 9 January 2022 and 6 February 2022 across five cities in Cameroon.
Tunisia will kick-off their journey against Mali on 2 December, before facing Mauritania on the 16th and finally Gambia four days later.
