Young Ghanaian forward Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is confident in the Black Stars team und is brimming with confidence as the tournament nears.
The 17-year-old who will be making his debut appearance with the Senior National Football team at a major tournament is hopeful great things to come when Ghana’s campaign starts in Cameroon.
Fatawu Issahaku helped Ghana’s Black Satellites to win the Africa Youth Championship and was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of tournament and the young but hugely talented young man has now set his sights on achieving same feet with the Senior side.
As this year’s edition approaches, Fatawu Issahaku has optimistically spoken about Ghana’s chances as the adventure starts with group games against Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
“You can’t say they should expect anything if not the trophy because that’s what we are aiming. So I don’t think there’ll be pressure on it (sic),” He told the Ghana Football App in an interview.
“We have confidence in ourselves and there’s not any pressure. It’s just a normal thing,” he added.
Ghana will play Algeria today, Wednesday, January 5 in a Pre-Afcon friendly ahead of their first game at the tournament against Morocco on January 10, before taking on Gabon and Comoros on 14th and 18th respectively.
