Medeama SC Board chairman Dr Tony Aubyn has disagreed with Al Ahly’s decision to request for the CAF Champions League clash to be played on Friday to be rescheduled to Saturday.
“The flight time from Accra to Kumasi is approximately 40 minutes. Al Ahly players are safe and there is no need to postpone the match,” disclosed board DR Tony Aubyn.
Al Ahly reached Ghana on Wednesday afternoon and wanted the game to be postponed to Saturday after they reported that they were finding it difficult to refuel their plane in Accra.
Also, Ah Ahly said there was no domestic flight available to fly the team from Accra to Kumasi on Wednesday night so they stayed overnight and travelled to Kumasi on Thursday morning making them exhausted.
The Red Devils of Cairo insisted on having a two-day training before the game but Medeama said NO because tickets had already been sold.
All is set now for Medeama to play Al Ahly at 4 pm at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Friday.
