Captain of South African ABSA Premier League side, Amzulu FC, Siyabonga Mbatha has named Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori in his best three keepers in the league.
Mbatha who is the goalkeeper of Amazulu stressed that Maritzburg skipper Richard Ofori together with Daniel Akpeyi and Ronwen Williams are currently the outstanding ones in the South African topflight.
“I don’t think it has been a good season for me, I don’t even think I belong in the top five keepers this season,” Mbatha told KickOff.com.
”Richard Ofori has been very good in organising the Maritzburg United defence. He help them on high balls and is very good with crucial saves.””Then SuperSport United’s Ronwen Williams, he has been enjoying his football.
He is in a good space mentally. You can see he’s performing well because of the space he is in.””Daniel Akpeyi, I think Chiefs is number one. There were games where he saved the club in tough times.” He added.
Ofori, 26, has kept ten clean sheets and conceded just 17 goals in 22 league games this season.
He has been nominated for the ABSA Premier League goalkeeper of the year award.
