Ghanaian midfielder Evelyn Badu has inked a deal with FC Fleury 91 in the French top flight, extending until 2025.
The announcement follows her return from international duty with the Black Queens, where they fell short of qualifying for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games final qualifying round.
Badu, a former regular starter for Hasaacas Ladies Football Club, boasts an impressive track record, clinching the Ghana Women’s Premier League title twice in 2019 and 2021.
Her standout performances also earned her recognition on the continental stage, notably being named the best player of the group stage and the overall competition during the inaugural edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2021.
Despite her team’s defeat in the final against Mamelodi Sundowns, Badu emerged as the top scorer of the tournament. Her talents garnered attention internationally, leading to a two-and-a-half-year stint with Norwegian club L’Avaldsnes Idrettslag in December of the same year.
Badu’s international career is equally noteworthy, having represented Ghana in the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in France and the CAF 2020 Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Now, as she dons the number 17 jersey, Evelyn Badu officially joins FC Fleury 91 as a Floriacum Lioness, poised to make her mark in the French football scene.
