Desmond Ofei, the head coach of Ghana’s U20 national team, the Black Satellites, has rejected assertions suggesting his team struggles with goal-scoring prowess following their goalless draw against Congo in the Group A clash of the men’s football tournament at the 13th African Games.
Addressing the media post-match, Coach Ofei attributed the inability to convert chances to unfortunate circumstances rather than an inherent goal-scoring deficiency.
“In the second half, we were dominant. I think we created more chances than the opponent and we should have been clinical with the chances we created. We had a bit of tough luck today,” Coach Desmond Ofei explained.
“I don’t think we have goal-scoring problems. We just have to put the ball into the net. The timing of our runs should be better to avoid offside. For us, we will keep doing what we are doing and definitely, the goals will come,” he affirmed.
With their focus now on the upcoming match against Gambia on March 12, the Black Satellites remain confident in their ability to find the back of the net and secure positive results in the tournament.
