The Ghana U20 men’s national team, known as the Black Satellites, has triumphed over Senegal in the semifinals of the men’s football tournament at the 13th African Games, setting up a thrilling final showdown with Uganda U20.
The highly anticipated clash between the Black Satellites and the Young Teranga Lions unfolded at the Accra Sports Stadium, showcasing a display of skill and determination from both sides. Despite Ghana’s dominance in the first half, the hosts were unable to convert their chances, heading into halftime on level terms.
As the second half commenced, Ghana continued to assert their authority on the pitch, while Senegal made spirited attempts to breach the hosts’ defense. In a crucial moment during the 83rd minute, substitute Michael Ephson broke the deadlock with a close-range finish, propelling the Black Satellites into a well-deserved lead.
With Ghana maintaining their advantage until the final whistle, the Black Satellites secured a narrow yet significant victory, clinching their spot in the final of the tournament. They will now turn their focus to the ultimate showdown against Uganda, who emerged victorious against Congo in the other semifinal clash.
