Ghanaian defender Alidu Seidu has taken an extraordinary step to celebrate his move from Clermont Foot to Stade Rennais in the French Ligue 1.
The unveiling is set to take place following Ghana’s exit from the 2023 AFCON.
Reliable sources indicate that Stade Rennais secured Seidu’s transfer for a fee of €11 million plus bonuses. Remarkably, this was the fourth bid submitted by Stade Rennais, as the Lancers rejected their initial offers of €8 million, €9.5 million, and €10.5 million. The breakthrough came with their fourth approach.
After reaching an agreement, Seidu reportedly finalized personal terms with Stade Rennais. The official announcement was initially delayed due to the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, but Ghana’s early exit paves the way for an imminent unveiling.
Ahead of this grand occasion, Seidu and his mother left Ghana for France today. The 23-year-old defender, who has shown exceptional form with 14 appearances and one assist in Ligue 1 this season, is expected to be officially introduced by Stade Rennais in the coming days.
