Mohammed Kudus in his debut Africa Cup of Nations suffered embarrassment with the Ghana Black Stars as they were eliminated at the group stage.
In Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde and Mozambique, Ghana won just 2 points which wasn’t enough to help them progress.
Westham United forward Mohammed Kudus has expressed his disappointment in Ghana’s early exit in the AFCON.
On his X wall, the red-hot Westham attacker wrote, “To the heart & soul of Ghana. Falling short at my debut AFCON is a hard reality we face together but as a playing body, we take full responsibility.
The 23-year-old rendered an apology to Ghanaians for the performance the team put up in Ivory Coast.
“We deeply regret not meeting your hopes this time. Your enduring support is our motivation to make you proud in the future”, said Kudus.
Mohammed Kudus missed Ghana’s opening fixture against Cape Verde as Ghana lost 2-1. Against Egypt on matchday 2, Kudus scored a brace and won the Man of the Match Award in the 2-2 draw. The Westham man again was voted for as the man of the match against Mozambique in the 2-2 draw.
