Ghana forward Inaki Williams continued his blistering form in the Spanish Laliga when he netted twice to inspire Athletic Bilbao to an emphatic victory against Espanyol on Saturday.
The Black Stars forward inspired his outfit to a resounding 4-1 win over Espanyol at the San Mamés Barria after scoring twice in the second half, sparking a strong display for the host.
Spain international Daniel Vivian shot the home team into the lead after just six minutes following an assist from Inaki’s younger brother, Nico Williams.
Inaki Williams needed just two minutes to fire his brace for Athletic Bilbao, scoring in the 28th and 30th-minute marks respectively for the home team.
However, Alex Berenguer, who assisted Inaki Williams goals found the net in the second half to cement victory for Athletic Bilbao on Saturday afternoon.
Spain international Ãlvaro Tejero scored a direct free-kick in stoppage time to reduce the deficit for the visitors in the thrilling encounter.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars striker was replaced in the 73rd minute mark by Nico Serrano following his brace heroics in the game.
The 30-year-old forward, who switched allegiance to play for Ghana in 2022 has been impressive for Athletic Bilbao since the commencement of the season. He has racked up three goals and provided four assists after 10 games into the La Liga campaign.
Despite his impressive run at Bilbao, the enterprising attacker continues to struggle with the national team, scoring just a goal in over 17 matches.
