Ghana striker Jordan Ayew‘s 98th-minute winner completed a stunning comeback from two goals down as Leicester City left St. Mary’s Stadium with a 3-2 victory over Kamaldeen Sulemana‘s Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
Ayew’s late strike ensured his side snatched crucial victory in their away fixture after the Black Stars disappointing results in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
I t was Cameron Archer and Joe Aribo who gave the Saints a two-goal lead before the halftime break in the crucial encounter.
However, Leicester City pulled one back in the 64th-minute through Facundo Buonanotte after he was set up by Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
In the 74th-minute, ace striker Jamie Vardy converted from the spot to level the score line for the visitors before Ayew bagged the match winner with a fine strike in the 98th-minute mark of the game.
Ayew, 33, has now scored just a goal for Leicester City in seven Premier League games.
