De Zerbi believes the Ghanaian international has top quality and hopes to work with him in the upcoming season.
The former Benevento and Palermo Coach has been appointed as Beppe Iachini’s successor, and was officially presented on Thursday afternoon.
“I’ve seen the great passion of the owner [Giorgio] Squinzi, he loves football,” De Zerbi told the gathered media.“
“He tries to find out about and understand the tactical strategies and the idea of the game. As for objectives, we’ll decipher those when the pitch tells us the value of our squad”.
“Boateng? He’s a quality player, and quality players have to play. I know him well, he’s intelligent, mature and strong and he can play different roles.”
The former AC Milan star has agreed personal terms to join Sassuolo on a three year deal ahead of the upcoming season.
