Young Africans coach Angel Gamondi underscores the crucial nature of their upcoming 2023/24 CAF Champions League encounter against Medeama in Kumasi, Ghana.

The Tanzanian club, eager to secure their first victory in Group D, will face the Ghanaian champions on matchday three after experiencing a defeat and a draw in their initial two games.

Young Africans faced a challenging start to their Group D campaign with a 3-0 defeat against Belouizdad in an away match. Subsequently, they managed to salvage a 1-1 draw at home against Al Ahly. In light of these initial outcomes, Coach Gamondi is determined to reverse their fortunes and secure a crucial win against Medeama.

Addressing the media ahead of the game, the Argentinian coach expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and highlighted the significance of the upcoming clash.

“We are preparing very well. We come here with the determination to win. For us, it’s a must-win game. We made some mistakes in our previous games, but we are determined to win tomorrow. We are well prepared—mentally and physically.”

Acknowledging the competitive nature of Group D with two formidable teams, Gamondi emphasized the importance of securing a victory and assured that his team would give their best effort in pursuit of the crucial three points.

“Not only us, but Medeama too. We are in the same group with two big teams, and we know what they can do. For us, it’s a must-win, and we will do our best.”
