Medeama forward Benjamin Bature expresses eagerness for a positive outcome as they prepare to face Egyptian giants Al Ahly in a crucial CAF Champions League group stage opener.
The highly anticipated match is scheduled to take place at the Al Salam Stadium in Cairo on Saturday.
Currently in Egypt for preparations, Bature remains optimistic despite the formidable challenge posed by the record Champions League holders. He acknowledges the high level of Al Ahly but emphasizes that they are all football players, refusing to be overshadowed.
“We are not worried going into Al Ahly’s game. We are all players just that their level is on a high and that how everyone sees it”
Bature states, “Al Ahly is a good team, but we are going to play football and we are not under their shadows.” While acknowledging the difficulty of the upcoming game, he expresses confidence that Medeama is mentally prepared to secure a positive result.
“Truth be told, it’s a very difficult game for us but we’ve psyched to earn a positive result” he said.
Medeama’s journey to the Champions League group stage has been historic, eliminating Remo Stars and Horoya AC in the qualification rounds. As they gear up for this significant encounter, Bature’s positive outlook reflects the team’s determination to make an impact in the competition.
