Medeama Sporting Club’s head coach, Evans Adotey, expresses confidence in obtaining a positive result against their opponent, Al Ahly, in Egypt as they embark on their CAF Champions League campaign.
The Ghanaian champions are set to face the record title holders in Cairo on Saturday night.
In an interview with Max TV reporter Mutala Yakubu, Coach Adotey acknowledges Al Ahly as giants of Africa but emphasizes the determination of Medeama to compete and achieve favorable outcomes.
He acknowledges that, being newcomers to the competition compared to the experienced Al Ahly, Medeama is considered an underdog. However, Adotey believes in the team’s potential to secure good results, mentioning the motivation instilled by Moses Parker.
“Everyone sees Al Ahly as giants of Africa, and it’s true”
“Medeama is an underdog. We’ve to go to Egypt and come back with good results. Unlike the experienced Al Ahly, we’re new to the competition”
“The boys are well-motivated thanks to Moses Parker.”
“We will not bring shame to Ghana. A surprise must be either a win or a draw. We’ve done all we could. We leave the rest to God and how the players will perform.”
Moses Parker, the club’s bankroller, echoes Adotey’s sentiments, expressing the commitment not to bring shame to Ghana. Parker anticipates a surprise from Medeama, defining it as either a win or a draw. He affirms that the team has made necessary preparations, leaving the rest to God and the players’ performance.
The team engaged in training on Thursday night as they gear up for the highly anticipated clash on Saturday.
