The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced an increase in the funds allocated to the 2023/2024 Inter-Club competitions.
During the 45th annual congress held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on Thursday, CAF confirmed the increment and expressed their commitment to continuously improving the organization of the competitions.
The Inter Club competitions (TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup) CAF Super Cup, CAF Women’s Champions League, FUTSAL and Africa Schools Program are expected to be delivered in the 2023/2024 financial year with a projected budget of $110 million, dedicated to organisation and prize money of these premier competitions.
The increased financial resources for the delivery of CAF Competitions seeks to increase the global popularity and stature of CAF’s blue chip tournaments.
In the Champions League, Medeama SC will represent Ghana, while Dreams FC will participate in the Confederation Cup.
Ghana’s flag will be carried by Ampem Darkoa Ladies FC in the WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers. However, Ghana does not have any teams competing in the Futsal and school championship competitions.
