Databank’s Chief Executive, Kojo Addae-Mensah, has assumed a pivotal role on the Ghana Football Association’s specialized five-member quest panel tasked with finding the new head coach for the Black Stars.
Headed by GFA Vice President Mark Addo, the committee features Professor Joseph Mintah, Chief Director of the Sports Ministry, William Caesar Kartey, and Ghanaian football icon Opoku Nti.
With a mandate from the GFA, the committee aims to propose the next Black Stars coach to the Executive Council within a three-week timeframe.
The pursuit of a new head coach gained momentum following the departure of Chris Hughton, who couldn’t guide the Black Stars beyond the group stages in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
According to the Ghana Football Association’s recent statement, the committee has set a deadline of February 2, 2024, for potential applicants to submit their candidacy for the vacant position.
The GFA outlines specific criteria, including a minimum of 15 years of coaching experience, that the new head coach must meet to assume the role of Black Stars head coach.
