Ghana’s Black Galaxies head coach, Mas-Ud Didi Dramani, has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness ahead of their crucial African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against Nigeria.
The much-anticipated encounters are slated for December 22 at the Accra Sports Stadium and December 26 in Lagos, promising a thrilling contest between two of West Africa’s football powerhouses.
Addressing the challenge of facing a formidable opponent, Dramani emphasized the necessity of competing against high-caliber teams to achieve success in football.
“In football, when you want to get to the top, you should be ready to meet the top liners. For me, it was not surprising that we were meeting Nigeria,” Dramani stated in an interview with SuperSport Blitz. “Whether you want it or not, you still will play against someone, and you should expect to play against a quality opponent. There is no doubt that Nigeria is a quality opponent, and Ghana is equally a quality opponent.”
Dramani also reflected on the significance of the CHAN tournament, emphasizing its role in spotlighting domestic talent and preparing players for the senior national team.
“The future of this team is to just show domestically what we are made of and to inspire these young players that they have the capabilities and qualities to be in the senior national team,” he explained. “The idea is to instill in them the true culture of what we are doing—the philosophy and the style of play.”
The Black Galaxies are not only targeting qualification but also aiming to assert the strength of Ghana’s domestic football on the continental stage.
