The Insha Allah Boys will travel to Western North to face Nzema Kotoko FC in their first game of the 2024/25 Division One League season. Ahead of the encounter head coach of the Kumasi-based outfit Barnabas Awuni has being speaking.

King Faisal FC suffered relegation from the Ghanaian topflight in 2022/23 season but aiming for a sensational comeback in no time. Nonetheless, the club failed to inspire themselves to their targeted height and finished 8th last season – 2023/24 campaign.

However, has same ambition for the upcoming league season having augmented their squad with experienced players like Mohammed Arafat from Hearts of Oak SC, Everett Boateng from Atlantis FC in Finland, Ollenu Ashitey formerly of Accra Hearts of Oak SC, Eleven Wonders and Asante Kotoko SC, also Kamil Anaba from Medeama SC.

Coach Awuni has high sticks for his team and that of their first season test. Speaking with freelanced Sports Journalist, Kolog Bonaventure he revealed that his side are prepared enough for the task knowing how difficult the Division One League away matches goes.

“We know how the Division One is being played especially away games because the home side will do everything possible to start season well, which we are expecting a very tough game”

“With that, we are prepared for the game both mentally, physically and tactically to strategize and play. We will put in extra work, so at least harvest a point because we can’t afford to lose”.

He continued; “Our primarily target is just to avoid defeat on the road and that is not to defend through out the game. I have being to Nzema Kotoko FC two times, one with WAFA lost and last season with King Faisal also lost so definitely we can’t suffer defeat again.

“So what I can say, is not again. We won’t fall to Nzema Kotoko come this weekend”.

Game scheduled for AAK Ampain Sports Arena exactly 3:00pm on Sunday 29, 2024.
