– Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah is England’s all-time record scorer at Under 21 level, having netted 16 goals in 17 appearances.

– The promising attacker saw his stock soar in the 2021-22 season after scoring vital goals for Arsenal in their bid to secure Champions League football.

Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah, has completed his switch to the Black Stars of Ghana in a development that would strengthen Otto Addo’s side ahead of the World Cup final in Qatar and the remaining Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier matches.

Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively report that Nketiah recently had a phone call conversation with Ghana manager Otto Addo where the London-based player confirm his readiness to be in the Black Stars squad once invited by the Ghana  technical team.

Nketiah, 22, never made the step up to senior soccer for England though, unlike Hudson-Odoi.

The player who is on the radar of Crystal Palace Dortmund and West Ham United, was born and raised in London, but has family roots in Ghana.

His decision may well have been influenced by Ghana successfully qualifying for the Qatar World Cup, which begins in November.

Ghana booked its World Cup spot by beating Nigeria on the away goals rule in a two-legged playoff in March.

Sports World Ghana reported exclusively on Monday 6th June,2022 that, Brighton & Hove Albion star Tariq Lamptey has also completed talks with the Ghana FA and looks set to be named in Black Stars coach Otto Addo’s squad for the next 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header tie against Angola in September this year.

Meanwhile, former West Ham United striker Bobby Zamora has urged Tariq Lamptey, Eddie Nketiah and Chelsea star Calum Hudson-Odoi to not ‘jump the gun’ by snubbing England international set-up.

The English-born of Trinidad and Tobago descent says the youngsters will eventually get their chances for playing for the three Lions and shouldn’t switch nationality to play for Ghana.
