Dundee FC striker Emile Acquah has joined League Two side Harrogate Town on a temporary loan until the end of the season in a bid to gain more game time and regain confidence.
The 25-year-old, who moved to Dundee from Barrow in the summer, struggled to make an impact at Dens Park. Despite scoring in the League Cup group stage against Bonnyrigg Rose, Acquah has made only one league start and is yet to open his scoring account in the league.
Dundee manager Steven Pressley accepted responsibility for the striker’s limited opportunities, emphasizing that Acquah is a talented player who needs consistent game time to showcase his abilities. “People have been very quick to judge him, but he’s a player that needs games and time to prove himself,” Pressley said.
Acquah expressed his excitement at joining Harrogate, noting that he hopes to contribute goals and bring physical presence to the team. Harrogate manager Simon Weaver welcomed the signing, highlighting Acquah’s ability as a target man who can make an impact in both boxes.
The loan move is seen as an opportunity for Acquah to rediscover his form and confidence ahead of potential future contributions to Dundee.
