Ajax Amsterdam has secured the services of talented goalkeeper Paul Reverson, signing him to a three-year contract with an option to extend for two additional years.
The 19-year-old Dutch-born Ghanaian has been attracting interest from top European clubs, but has chosen to remain with the Eredivisie powerhouse.
Reverson, who has risen through the ranks of Ajax after joining the club at age eight, has been promoted to the club’s U23 team for the upcoming season. He made 26 league appearances for the Ajax U18 team last season and is considered a modern goalkeeper with good reflexes and footballing abilities.
According to Ajax’s official statement, “Ajax has signed Paul Reverson. The 19-year-old goalkeeper signed a three-season contract until June 30, 2027, with an option to extend for two additional years.”
Ajax director of football Marijn Beuker praised Reverson’s development, saying: “Paul has developed well in recent years. He is a modern goalkeeper with good reflexes and footballing abilities. Last month, Paul joined Ajax 1 for a training camp at Wageningse Berg, and the next step is making his professional debut with Ajax U23.”
As a dual citizen of Ghana and the Netherlands, Reverson is eligible to represent either country in international football. With his long-term contract secured, he is now set to focus on his development and potentially make his professional debut with Ajax U23.
