Media reports suggest that the leadership of Hearts of Oak will reach a decision regarding the future of the head coach, Martin Koopman, this week.
The Dutch manager was appointed on a one-year deal before the commencement of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
However, after five games, Hearts of Oak find themselves in 16th place on the league table with only five points. Koopman’s record includes one win, two defeats, and two draws, with an outstanding match against Heart of Lions.
Hearts of Oak has scored just one goal this season, with Ramos Kashala finding the net against Nsoatreman FC in their week two fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium.
Following their recent goalless draw against FC Samartex 1996, Koopman, in a post-match interview, absolved himself of blame for the club’s lack of goal-scoring prowess.
Reports indicate that the club’s Board of Directors will decide the future of the 65-year-old coach this week. Unconfirmed rumors suggest that Martin Koopman is likely to be dismissed, with the club already engaged in talks with potential replacement coaches.
Hearts of Oak is scheduled to play against Bibiani Gold Stars in the upcoming matchday seven game at DUN’s Park this weekend.
