Ghanaian striker Emmanuel Boateng continued his fine run in the Turkish Super League by scoring his third goal of the season during Gaziantep’s 2-1 victory over Hatayspor on Sunday.
The away side took the lead in the 38th minute through experienced Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar, who finished off a well-taken chance to put Hatayspor ahead.
But just before the break, Boateng brought Gaziantep level by reacting quickly to a loose ball inside the box, calmly slotting it home to spark celebrations from the home crowd.
Gaziantep came out with intent in the second half and sealed the win in the 59th minute, thanks to a well-placed effort from Halil Dervisoglu.
Despite chances falling to both teams throughout the match, Gaziantep managed to maintain their lead and secured an important three points on home soil.
Boateng, who joined the club midway through the season from Saudi outfit Al Orubah, has now scored three goals in ten matches, proving to be a valuable addition as Gaziantep aims for a strong finish to the season.
