Greek forward of Ghanaian descent, Andrews Tetteh, struck twice for Panathinaikos on Thursday night as his side drew 2-2 with Viktoria Plzen in the first-leg of their Europa League playoff clash.

The Greek side hosted the team from the Czech Republic today, hoping to secure a win to carry an advantage into the reverse fixture to stand a better chance of making it into the Round of 16.

In the match played at the Olympic Stadium of Athens, Plzen struck first in the 11th minute through Denis Visinsky, who met a well-weighted pass before firing a precise effort from the edge of the box inside the left post, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

Panathinaikos responded in the 31st minute. Georgios Kyriakopoulos delivered an inviting cross into the area, and Tetteh rose to meet it, guiding a close-range header into the bottom-right corner past Florian Wiegele to level the score at 1-1.

Tetteh struck again in the 61st minute with a moment of individual brilliance. The forward weaved past defenders before unleashing a powerful effort from the edge of the area that flew into the bottom-left corner.

However, Plzen restored parity in the 80th minute when Tomas Ladra controlled a sharp pass on the edge of the box and curled a superb finish into the top-right corner.

The evenly contested encounter leaves the tie finely poised ahead of the decisive second leg.

Andrews Tetteh, after his brace in the first leg, will be key for Panathinaikos when they make the trip to Plzen for the reverse fixture.
