Everton have reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign young winger Tyrique George in a deal worth up to £24 million, as the Merseyside club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season.
The package includes an initial £18 million fee, with a further £6 million in performance-related add-ons, including appearance milestones and European qualification targets. Chelsea will also retain a 15% sell-on clause, ensuring they benefit from any future transfer.
George is now expected to undergo a medical and finalise personal terms before the move is officially completed, with the transfer set to become one of Everton’s standout deals of the summer window.
The 20-year-old winger made a strong impression during his loan spell at Hill Dickinson Stadium, where he quickly adapted to Premier League football and became a useful attacking option.
He featured in 11 matches under David Moyes and earned praise not only for his performances on the pitch but also for his professionalism and attitude in training and around the squad.
Impressed by his rapid development, Everton moved quickly to secure a permanent deal after internal discussions concluded that George fits into Moyes’ long-term plans.
The winger is set to become Everton’s second signing of the summer, following the arrival of Hayden Hackney, as well as the permanent conversion of Merlin Røhl’s loan spell after his strong performances.
George’s arrival further underlines Everton’s intent to reshape their squad with young, dynamic talent as Moyes builds toward the new campaign.
