Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Antwi has underscored the fierce competition within the squad, noting that no player is guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup.
According to Antwi, every member of the team is pushing hard to secure a place in the first eleven as the club looks to regain its form in the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
“We don’t have any fixed first eleven here,” Antwi said. “Everyone is working hard to become the coach’s favorite.”
He emphasized the importance of effort and commitment in training, stating that players who fail to give their best will find it tough to earn playing time.
“If you’re a player here and don’t want to give your best, it will be very difficult for you to get playing time or make it into the first eleven,” he added. “Basically, everyone is trying hard to be in the first eleven.”
Asante Kotoko, after an underwhelming previous season, are focused on improving their form. They are set to host newly-promoted Young Apostles at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium for a crucial matchweek 3 fixture.
