Former Ghanaian international, Michael Essien, has reacted to Mesut Ozil’s decision to retire from football.

Ozil confirmed he was hanging up his boots in a social media post on Wednesday.
The 34-year-old retires after a successful career with Germany and at the club level. The former Germany international spent the past three years in the Turkish Super Lig.
During his successful one-year stint with Real Madrid in the 2012-13 season, Essien played with the German international.
Essien, who is now an assistant coach at Danish side FC Nordsjælland, wrote on Twitter: “Enjoy your retirement my friend”
